Who We Are and How We Work
We are a group of therapists in Los Angeles who are committed to doing great work to help our clients feel better. We believe in a shame-free, supportive approach that assumes that you are smart and acting rationally in what you see as your best interest.
Our job is to help you figure out what isn’t working, and then help you to decide what to do about it based on your own values. We are not here to preach or tell you how to live, how to love, who to love, or how to raise your kids.
All of us come from different backgrounds, but we share a devotion to lifelong learning and collaboration with our colleagues. We work as a team together with our clients to face life’s hardest and most intractable problems with creativity, dignity, and determination.
A Thoughtful, Collaborative Approach to Therapy
We’ve done this work - and we’ve done life - long enough to know that while many of us experience similar feelings, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Every person’s experiences, relationships, and challenges are different, which is why therapy should never feel generic or formulaic.
At Right Place Counseling, clients benefit from the collective knowledge, training, perspectives, and collaboration of our entire team. We work together to provide thoughtful, personalized care that supports each client’s unique needs and goals.
Meet Our Therapists in Los Angeles
We Are Real People Helping With Real Problems
We are moms, dads, sons, daughters, partners. We’ve been hired and we’ve been fired. We’ve been loved and we’ve been dumped. We’ve experienced joy and devastation. We’ve felt on top of the world, and we’ve felt like complete failures. Sometimes all in the same week.
Our work draws from the full range of human experience, with all its possibilities and limitations.
Trauma-Informed Therapy in Los Angeles
Right Place Counseling provides therapy for anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, depression, stress, grief, and major life transitions. Our therapists use trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches that help clients better understand patterns, process difficult experiences, improve relationships, and move toward meaningful change. We work with individuals, teens, couples, and families in West Los Angeles and El Segundo.
Therapy That Honors Your Full Identity
Inclusive, Affirming Care
We believe therapy should feel supportive, respectful, and genuinely safe for people from all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences. Our therapists provide affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, multicultural families, Third Culture Kids, first responders, and anyone navigating challenges connected to identity, culture, relationships, or belonging.
Every person's story is shaped by many parts of who they are, and by the forces that are acting on them and the people in their lives. Therapy should make space for the full complexity of your life, not ask you to leave any part of yourself behind, and help you stand firm when that’s what is required to live the life you want to live.
